The above article is on a group of advocates marching in front of the White House for gay rights. The march was focused on trying to pressure Obama to get involved on gay rights. Some advocates mentioned denied rights in the military and for marriage. One person mentioned that if gay people are not able to get married, then how is their companion able to be considered under the same health insurance policy? I find it very unfair that many of these people are born in America, and as soon as they become gay they lose many of their born rights. Like blacks when they were freed and considered under the Constitution, they were still denied many rights that most others received that were not black. For the blacks to receive the same rights as all they had to fight for them and gain them, just as well as the gays in the article are trying to do. When will equal rights really mean equal rights for all that are born under the Constitution? What are people afraid of happening in America that they don’t want equal rights for all? What is really the problem that denies people certain rights?
