Today many forms of birth control are widely available to people of all ages, and are looked down upon by very few people. Many insurance policies cover the expense of birth control such as “the pill” and other forms of contraception are relatively cheap. Many doctors today promote the use of birth control not just to stop pregnancies, but for minor health problems such as bad cramps. The article said “ It's nice to have a medical excuse to use birth control.” Today there is even a method of birth control referred to as “plan B.” This is a pill women can take up to three days after sex and it will prevent a possible pregnancy from earlier. Many would obviously have banned this pill, if the technology had been around in the early 1900’s, when Margaret Sanger was promoting the revolutionary technology of birth control. She was the main birth control activist and promoted the use of it to all women, she did this by writing in her journal the “Women Rebel.” Her actions caused her to end up in prison because this new idea of sex without causing pregnancies was unheard of at the time. Today without these technologies birth rates around the world would be extremely high and over population would be a much bigger deal. I believe Margaret Sanger’s actions have helped solve many worldwide problems other than just pregnancies.
