Palin's Fault?

A recent New York Times/CBS News poll found that 59 percent of voters surveyed said that Vice Presidential candidate, Sarah Palin was not properly prepared for the job. As her qualifications for the office came into question, aids for the McCain campaign felt she had become a burden. Yet, other McCain aides were adamant that the campaign was in the slump until Governor Palin energized the party. One third of the voters surveyed said that the vice-presidential selection would be a significant factor in their choice for president.
It has been said by many within the Republican Party that the McCain-Palin campaign was turbulent, negative, incoherent, and poorly run. The question is whether Sarah Palin was the catalyst for the tension within the campaign, or was the campaign in trouble before she was selected as John McCain's running mate.
