Who will the New Pet of the White House be?

The White House has had many different kinds of pets welcomed into its home over the course of history. Who will the new pet be as the President elect Barack Obama and his family try to decide on the next presidential famous pet. The White House has housed all different kinds of animals. Thomas Jefferson had a Grizzly bear and chickens! Yicks! President Lincoln had ponies, goats, rabbits, dogs and cats. Teddy Roosevelt gave homes to snakes, another bear (what’s up with the bears!), parrots, guinea pigs, turtles, and kangaroo rats. Are you sure the White House should not be named “The White Zoo House?’
The White House even had its own lawnmower, a cow named Pauline. Many loved this precious cow, especially William Howard Taft the 27th President. But for the most patriotic animal of them all was President McKinley's parrot that would whistle “Yankee Doodle”, what a bird!
As you can see the White House has had many different animals that would help keep the home normal for all the families that have lived there. Including the current Scottish terrier Barney, whose favorite snack is reporters' fingers. Who will the next loving pet be?
