Women in the Military

Women’s roles in the military and war efforts are rapidly changing. According to an article by Steven Lee Meyers women have their own quarters; there are also women's bathrooms and showers, married couples have the option of living together, and many women are also becoming leaders. This is a big difference from previous wars. In wars past women weren’t allowed to go into combat, the closest they got was taking jobs as nurses, secretaries, and cleaning workers. They also took over men’s jobs, so more men could go into battle. This shows the effort our country is making to give women and men equal opportunities.
