The oral history recording I watched was an interview of Steve Jobs and Bill Gates at the D5 conference on May 29-31, 2007. It was a unique piece of history that placed a lot of emphasis on how both Apple (and more specifically Macintosh computers) along with Microsoft worked off of one another in their beginning years. The video first provides old historic recordings of Jobs and Gates together promoting their separate yet shared business enterprises. The rest of the video is a more modern interview with the two individuals discussing the history of their company growth, the hardware developed by Microsoft the software developed by both corporations, and how Apple helped to launch Microsoft and how Microsoft ultimately resurrected Apple at a rough time. Although these two tech icons have been rocketed into incredibly powerful and wealthy positions where they rival one another as captains of industry they still maintain what appears to be a unique competitive friendship. The interview is remarkably useful for primary evidence on the growth of the technological era. It is a very long interview (being around an hour and a half) and to go into any great detail would be futile and would take up too much blog space, however I do recommend it as a fun watch. I thoroughly enjoyed both of these individuals personality, wisdom, and history.
