Immigration

In 1965, an immigration reform was established from the Hart-Celler Act which discriminated Asians and southern and eastern Europeans. This new law allowed 290,000 immigrants from all over the world to come to the United States annually. However, the new law had unexpected results, the amount of immigrants that came annually exceeded the limit of 290,000 immigrants. This problem of uncontrolled immigration into the US still has an impact today. Most of the uncontrolled immigration comes from Latin America, because for many immigrants it’s easier to get to Mexico instead of the US. Therefore, many Mexicans and Latin Americans cross the Mexican-American border to the US. The government has tried to build borders across the Mexican-American border; yet immigrants find ways to cross the border into the US.
